12,775 Days and Counting

Judy and I have been married 12,775 days as of 6 PM CST today, December 5. I am tempted to list all 12,775 reasons why. I could, but you wouldn't read'em anyway. So I'll only list however many I think of for a few minutes:

1-Only with God's leading, even though we didn't and don't recognize it many times.
2-We didn't know there were alternatives to "makin' it"
3-Only through rough times has our marriage grown. Ever noticed how you don't grow in anything when things are going great?
4-When the kids came along, we adopted the committment: Who ever leaves the marriage first has to take the kids. Only joking, of course. Or were we??
5-We need each other tremendously. Our opposites bring balance to many situations. Not without sparks, but the end product is usually much more in line with God's will.
6-We both love Maui!
7-God has blessed our committment to raise our children as best we could to "be", not just "do" in their committment to follow Christ.
8-Our parents/grandparents were married over 215 years collectively; my dad said "don't mess it up"!
9-We both were and are committed to living within our means; even less a lot of the time. I believe God has blessed that practice...we have never argued over financial issues.
10-When we have taken our eyes off each other, God has kept His arms around us-thank you Lord!
11-Judy has kept her sense of humor for 35 years while dealing with me. Why shouldn't I be committed to her and her only if she can do that miracle??
12-It doesn't get easier, but it does get better every year.

I love you sweetheart!!

Dan
